Chris and I celebrated our anniversary this weekend. I use the word “celebrated” loosely because we really didn’t do anything overly special to celebrate. I had to work all day yesterday on a photo shoot for my new cloth diaper line, and Chris had to work all day today on his businesses.
Chris brought Mack along for some of his work today, so this afternoon it was just me and the girls. In honor of our special day, I thought it would be fun to pull my wedding dress out of hiding in my closet. I don’t think I’ve looked at it since our wedding, and I am happy to report that I still love it. Sweet Evie excitedly looked at the dress, so of course I had to put it on her. Oh! She was radiant!
I couldn’t help but wonder if someday she might wear it for her own wedding…
After Evie took the dress off I slipped it on myself. It (mercifully) still fit after six years and three babies. I felt so special as I twirled for Evie and Vivian. When Chris came home I put it on again and asked him to take a few pictures of me with the kids. True to form, getting the three of them to sit still for just ONE NICE PICTURE was close to impossible. Notice Mack tugging on poor little Vivian’s ear…he is totally busted!
Once I freed Mack from the torture of a quick family picture, I thought it would be nice to get a few of me and my littlest baby. Oh, sweet Vivian. How I love you so! Won’t you please stay this small and lovely and lovey forever?
We then employed Evie to take a few pictures of Chris and me. Much to our surprise, her four-year old perspective served us pretty well!
Our anniversary dinner tonight consisted of take-out from Piece, our favorite pizza place in the city. We ate late and the kids were tired and a bit cranky. It was a rainy night. The house was a mess. But, as I looked at my little family and reflected upon the last six years I couldn’t help but feel immense pride and gratitude.
This is my life. And I love it.
To my parents: thank you for giving us the most fun and beautiful wedding we could have hoped for. I still daydream about the delicious food! Your generosity will always be appreciated.
To Chris’ parents: thank you for raising such a caring, responsible and fun-loving man. He is the best part of my every day.
To Chris: thank you for you. And my babies.

Beautiful words! Yay God!
Your creative skills and your energy astounds me !
I love you and admire you beyond words.
Your wedding dress is gorgeous! So nice that you were able to take it out and enjoy it! Congrats also on your cloth diaper line. My husband and I are expecting our first this fall and plan to cloth diaper. I’m curious if your line comes with the inserts or if those should be purchased separately? I love the gender neutral colors you’ve chosen and might purchase a few to try!
Thanks, Amanda!
Yes, the diapers come with a multi-layer polyester insert. We added photos to the site tonight.
Hope you like the diapers!
Perfect – thanks!
