Homemade Mothering in USA Today

I was interviewed for an article about green cleaning in a recent issue of USA Today.  I feel so passionately about the importance of cleaning with simple homemade solutions.  Not only does making my own cleaning products save lots of money, but its infinitely healthier for my family and the planet.  Not to mention the fact that homemade cleaners effectively do the job!

Plus, no spooky chemicals means I never have to worry about the kids getting into the cleaning product stash under the kitchen sink!

Check out the article below for my homemade dusting spray recipe, as well as a few more ideas from other eco-minded folks.

Yay! You know I have been following you for months and making my own cleaning supplies for just about a year. I recently read an article talking about how vinegar didn’t quite disinfect the way bleach does so I have taken to adding a 1/4 cup bleach to the big spray bottle for my “all purpose” cleaner. It seems to get the job done a bit faster actually. And to combat smell, I have also taken to putting Citrus fruit skins in the bottle as well. I like the element bleach has, all those germ killings. 🙂
