How I Announced My Pregnancies

Just about three years ago I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. When I think back on how much time has since passed I find myself in a state of awe and disbelief. So much has happened in such a short amount of time. Little ones grow and change every day, and as soon as I find myself enjoying a particular stage of their life they are on to the next big thing. Sometimes I wish I could press pause on my life just so I could savor and appreciate the moment.

I announced my first pregnancy to my parents just before Christmas. I framed and gift-wrapped the ultrasound image, hung a third stocking on our mantle and tucked the little gift inside. When my parents came over for dinner, I told them there was a present for them in the stocking. I’m pretty sure my mom figured it out before she even opened the frame! We did something similar when we told my husband’s parents, too.  Such a happy time for Chris and me!

When I found out I was pregnant with Mack a little over a year ago I dressed Evelyn in a “Big Sister” t-shirt and put her next to my sleeping husband. He woke up to some wonderful news that morning!

My “How I Announced My Pregnancy” story was recently featured on iVillage.com. I’d love to hear how you announced your pregnancy to your family and friends, too!

For number one I just walked out and showed my husband, for number two I just left the test on the dresser where he always puts his pocket stuff. This was a good idea, however, he was so excited he fell down the stairs coming to hug me… lol!
