I love how wide the eco-mama network reaches. My best friend Laura recently moved to Kentucky (sniff, sniff), and even though she is far away now we still encourage and support each other. While she was working on an article about cloth diapering she met Mika Pryor, a fellow mother who recently started up her own cloth diapering business. So, Laura connected me with Mika so I could test out her diapers.
Like the “big name” cloth diaper brands (if there is such a thing!), Mika’s diapers are a simple and straightforward pocket style that expands to fit a baby from newborn to potty-training. These look and wear just like disposable diapers, but instead of spending eternity in a landfill after one poop they are washed and re-used for years.
Evie was potty trained by the time she was 2 (a full year+ earlier than the average age for kids in disposable diapers), and I am on the path to training Mack right now. Since Mack is still in them for naps and bedtime I was so happy to try out her diapers. And, he seemed more than willing to wear them!
For all you eco-mamas out there feeling curious but hesitant to start cloth diapering, my best advice is this: DO IT. It is easy, cheap and surprisingly convenient (no late-night runs to the store for diapers!). If you are curious about how to get started, read my Cloth Diapering Manifesto or send me an email. I am happy to support you!

We just started selling the Groovy Cheeks in our store and so far not only do we LOVE them, but so do all our customers! YAY for supporting local, small businesses, YAY for being eco-friendly, YAY for more convenient than disposables, YAY for soft (I want underwear that feel like these!), YAY for saving thousands of dollars, which, WHO DOESN’T NEED THAT THESE DAYS?!?! I’m an obvious big support/cheerleader for these!
My spouse and I absolutely love your blog and find a lot of your post’s to be just what I’m looking for.
can you offer guest writers to write content for yourself?
I wouldn’t mind composing a post or elaborating on a lot of the subjects you write regarding here. Again, awesome blog!
