As a Homemade Mother, I am obviously very devoted to my children. I take great pride in knowing they are well fed, well read, and kissed before bed. However, it is still important to find special time for my husband. He is my best friend, and we really enjoy spending time together.
We are living on a super strict budget these days, so traditional date nights are few and far between. We can’t afford babysitters, so we often try to enjoy date nights at home. On these nights, I put the kids to bed a little early and make a late dinner for Chris and myself. Last weekend while I made linguine with clams Chris mixed a few cocktails. My current favorite? His cosmopolitan. His recipe doesn’t yield an overly sweet or tart drink – its just right for a night in!
Plus, he looks oh-so-handsome while he’s shaking up a drink for me.
Chris’ Cosmopolitan
1 shot cranberry juice
1 shot triple sec
1 shot vodka
juice from one lemon
Generously fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour all four ingredients in and shake until really cold. Pour into a martini glass and garnish with an ice chip and a bit of lemon peel.
