Afternoon Snack: Yogurt, Honey and Apples

Its just after 3 o’clock, so of course that means snack time in our house.  The kids are up from their naps, and I’m just about done with my afternoon work.  Perfect time for a healthy treat to get us through the rest of the day until dinner.

We don’t keep any processed foods in the pantry, so snacks are usually some fruit, homemade cookies or homemade yogurt.  Mack especially loves when I stir plain homemade yogurt with a mushed banana and some honey.  For me, I love yogurt mixed with apple, nuts and honey.  So simple, but so delicious.

Atfernoon Yogurt and Apple Snack

1 tart green apple, grated

1 cup yogurt (I prefer homemade yogurt)

palmful of walnuts

palmful of dried berries

a generous drizzle of honey (I love the raw honey we get from our co-op)

Layer ingredients in a bowl.  Enjoy!
