Robot Revolution on a Wednesday Night

There are so many reasons I love raising kids in the middle of a big city. Aside from all the cultural experiences and fine restaurants and walking everywhere, city living affords us the chance to do fun things every night of the week. Take tonight, for example: Chris and I took the kids to a special preview event at the Museum of Science and Industry for the new Robot Revolution exhibit. No fighting traffic or getting home too late. A quick drive down the street turned an otherwise boring Wednesday night into a fun memory!

The Robot Revolution exhibit engaged all ages. Fourteen month old Ben ran smiling the entire night:

Three year old Vivian loved pushing all the buttons, watching the robots respond and react:

Five year old Mack (and all the kids, really) LOVED having extra (screen-free) time with their dad. It was the best kind of family time: hands-on learning while having serious fun:

And nearly 7 year old Evie loved participating in the drone show – she is normally a little timid, so the courage she mustered to get up on stage really impressed me:

Even my 50-something year old Dad had fun while exploring the exhibit with eight of his 13 grandkids!

Chicago is an awesome city. We have so much to do! And so much to learn! Who knows – maybe one of my kids will be a scientist someday thanks to inspiration and encouragement gained at the Robot Revolution exhibit?!
