Good Morning!

I’m pretty sure my favorite part of every day is the first 20 minutes.  Everyone is in a good mood, no one is whining, we’re all just happy to be awake and together.  Mack is usually first to toddle in, a sheepish grin on his face because he climbs out of his bed and he’s still not sure sure its allowed.  Next is Evie, her curly hair untamed and wild, her perma-smile bigger than usual.  And of course we now have little Vivian, who is content just to nurse and doze while her older siblings tumble and snuggle on the bed.

Some mornings we take turns giving each other back scratches.  Other mornings Evie or Mack drags a book into the bed and I’ll read to them. And, on the mornings I want to a few extra minutes to relax, I give them the Kindle or the iPhone.  We’ve got some cute educational games on the Kindle, and Evie loves taking pictures with the iPhone or texting her name to various people on my contact list.

No matter what, I prefer to ease into the day rather than racing like crazy, a short-term luxury as they grow older and we have to run to school or work or activities.  For now, though, I am going to appreciate every bed-headed moment with my little babes.
