Chris’s Maple Bacon

Most Sunday mornings Chris can be found stocking up on meat for the week at Whole Foods. He likes a hearty breakfast every day – eggs scrambled with veggies and bacon – and until recently he always picked up a pound of maple bacon to get him through the week. But, much to his dismay, the store stopped selling it. So, the butcher suggested he make it at home. Turns out, it really is quite easy and much more delicious.

Here’s a picture of my handsome husband making homemade maple bacon. I’ve got a good man!

And, as a fun bonus here’s a picture of Elinor. The twins are crawling now! Watch out world!!

Chris’s Maple Bacon

8 strips bacon

1/3 cup real maple syrup

Heat oven to 400 degrees.

Line a baking sheet with foil, and place a rack on top of the sheet. Lay bacon out on rack. Brush each strip with a light coating of real maple syrup.

Bake for 20-30 minutes, depending on how “done” you want it. Chris likes it at 20 minutes, but I like mine well done!
